Mumbai, May 21: The Mumbai Indians enjoyed a season of wild endeavours during the 2026 Indian Premier League and captain Hardik Pandya is in yet another eye of the storm. BCCI Suspends Pandya After KKR Clash
It was in this context that the behaviour of Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya in Match 65 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, needed to be reviewed as he was reprimanded by the BCCI. The all-rounder was charged under Level 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct and was fined 10% of his match fee, along with a demerit point. The incident took place on the fourth ball of the 10th over when a clearly frustrated Pandya, returning to his mark after bowling a delivery, “abused” cricket equipment by striking the bails off the stumps in IPL parlance. MI captain has collected 146 runs in eight games this season at an average of 19.25 with a strike-rate of 136.44, without hitting a half-century. With the ball, he has taken four wickets conceding runs at an economy rate of 11.90.
